When does Smart Steps open?
We open in January 2027 at 22–24 Thompson Avenue, Moorebank. Families can join our waitlist now and express interest ahead of opening.
What ages do you care for?
Children from 6 weeks to 6 years, across three rooms: Nursery (6 weeks–2), Toddlers (2–3) and Preschool (3–5), with 20 places in the Nursery, 40 in Toddlers and 60 in Preschool across two rooms of 30.
What are your hours?
7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
How much does it cost?
Our daily fee is $155, which includes fresh chef-prepared meals, our Arkki creative curriculum and daily updates via the OWNA app. Most families pay far less after the Child Care Subsidy, and 3–5s may also access NSW Start Strong. Try our subsidy calculator for an estimate.
Are you registered for the Child Care Subsidy?
Yes. Smart Steps is a government-approved, CCS-registered service, so eligible families can claim the subsidy to reduce their out-of-pocket cost.
What is Arkki, and why does it matter?
Arkki is an award-winning creative-education program from Finland, certified by the Finnish National Agency for Education and delivered in 11 countries. It teaches children to think, create and solve through hands-on design and project work. Our co-founder Anthony Haddad is a core member of Arkki Australia, so it's woven authentically through our whole curriculum — most fully in our preschool years.
What makes Smart Steps different from a big chain?
We're a single, family-run centre led by educators — the Haddad brothers, who spent six years running Kalibre Education. That means your child is known by name, our curriculum is genuinely distinctive, and you deal directly with the people who run the centre.
Do you provide meals?
Yes — a qualified in-house chef prepares fresh, healthy meals on-site every day, catering to every allergy and dietary need. [Confirm which meals are included.]
How do you keep children safe?
All staff hold Working With Children Checks, we practise active supervision, entry is secure with digital sign-in via OWNA, and we follow individual health, allergy and medical plans. Read our full Child Safety commitment.
How do I stay updated on my child's day?
Through the OWNA parent app — you'll receive photos, updates and your child's daily “story”, including meals, sleeps and milestones.
What's the difference between joining the waitlist and enrolling?
Joining the waitlist registers your interest and reserves your place in the queue. Enrolment is the formal step you complete once a place is confirmed, ahead of orientation.
How do I get started?
Join our waitlist online, book a tour to see the centre, then complete your enrolment and orientation. Join the Waitlist
